Statistics & Research Methodology-II

By Dr. PriyankaBanerji   |   The NorthCap University
To study statistics and research methodology, it is essential to have a clear understanding of the basic concepts and theories. A good starting point is to read this Detailed Content of each Unit, followed by a textbook, which will provide a comprehensive overview of the statistics and research methodology. It is also helpful to solve basic research questions that illustrate how these methodologies are applied in real-world situations. Taking notes and creating summaries of the key concepts and ideas can help with retention and understanding. Additionally, practice solving MCQs, critical thinking and analysis when reviewing the material can help develop a deeper understanding of the research and methodology.

To study this course, ideally you shall know the concept and its relevance followed by its emergence as a discipline. Unit one is about the sampling theory and techniques. In this unit, the students will study about the sampling theory, its techniques, population and samples, central limit theorem and their practical aspects. Unit two is about distribution theory, where the students will study about distribution theory, probability distribution, Normal distribution, Binomial, Poisson, Hypergeometric and Geometric distribution. They will also learn the numerical aspects of these concepts. Unit three is hypothesis testing in case of large sample test, where students will lean and apply various tests under different conditions. Unit four is about Small Sample Test, Chi Square Test and ANOVA, where the students will learn about their properties and the numerical aspects. The syllabus is evenly distributed across all units. There are certain case studies towards the end of each unit to help you learn practicing the freshly learnt content.
