Studying communication skills or business communication teaches students various skills that are essential for their professional and personal growth. It teaches them how to effectively communicate ideas, thoughts, and messages in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner. Students learn how to adapt their communication style to different situations and audiences, including clients, colleagues, and managers. Furthermore, it helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as they learn to analyze complex information and develop solutions to problems. This study material contains four units. Each unit has five main topics and certain subtopics. Every unit has a self-assessment consisting of five to ten multiple choice questions towards the end. Further, there are two assignments and four assessments for each unit, which a student must submit on the stipulated date as a part of continuous assessment. Moreover, to provide additional clarity, there are 20 powerpoint presentations and 20 videos on learning management systems that are provided to aid the seamless learning for students. Unit 1, titled Concept of Communication, will lay emphasis on the foundation of the course, and familiarize students with the concept of communication, its importance and relevance, and how any communication can be interrupted and result in ineffective communication. It will provide a comprehensive understanding of communication, where students shall understand communication and its usage in creating as well as sustaining relationships in an organizational setting. Unit 2, titled Grammar and Usage, students will learn about the definition, usage and implementation of these linguistic elements of Articles, Prepositions and Subject-verb agreement to supplement the enrichment of their vocabulary in the preceding unit. In unit 3, titled Organizational Skills - Written, students will learn various key aspects of effective business writing. Students will develop skills in organizing their written communication, including understanding the appropriate use of tone, language, and formatting, to effectively convey their message in a clear and concise manner. In Unit-4, titled Organizational Skills - Verbal, students will develop interview skills, including understanding the definition and guidelines for interviews, and learning about different types of interviews. This shall equip them with essential verbal communication skills for various business scenarios
